CUTTING
FLUID BASICS
Machining cutting fluids must cool and
lubricate the cutting tool and come in
many forms; oils, oil-water emulsions,
pastes, gels and mists. To this list
you can add Neo-Synthetic cutting
fluids. No coolants are used in
machining brass and interrupted cuts
with carbide cutters but most other
machining operations benefit from
cutting fluids.
Machining at high speeds and feed
rates requires cooling to maintain
close tolerances and lubrication to
extend cutting tool life. Operator
safety and environmentally safe fluid
disposal as well as avoiding rust on
cutters and machined parts are other
considerations when choosing cutting

NEO-SYNTHETIC
FORMULATIONS

cutting fluids are available in
various formulations depending on
your applications and needs. These
formulations feature extreme
pressure and polymeric additives for
outstanding machining performance
regardless of the severity of the

friendly.
- 3310
EPF is an all-purpose
Neo-Synthetic fluid for
machining cast iron, steel and
aluminum. It exhibits extremely
low drag out and contains no
sodium sulfonate and so is
environmentally safe, operator
friendly, and non-flammable with
excellent protection against
electronic corrosion typical in
iron-copper or iron-aluminum
conductivity environments.
- 3340
SPF Neo-Synthetic cutting
fluid is an all purpose coolant
for machining cast iron, steel
and aluminum and is especially
suited to trepanning and
gun-drilling operations.
- 3315
NPF is intended for all
ferrous and some non-ferrous
metals and is similar to 3310
EPF and for
environmentally safe waste
disposal contains no chlorine.
