   Gang Tool Lathes Boost Output

Automate Your Programmable Tool Room Lathe to a Full CNC Turning Center with a CNC Gang Tool

       For manufacturing to recover, productivity is not an option.  Better lathe performance is critical. And, gang tool lathe conversions can really boost productivity.

       This explains the interest that Industry Depot site visitors have shown for this important upgrade in recent months, so we thought lathe CNC gang tool conversions would be of interest to Productivity News readers.

      Now it is possible to machine multi-feature parts in one  cycle with a gang tool equipped un-manned toolroom lathe.
Gang Tool Lathe Operation
       Multi turning, drilling, boring, tapping, threading, grooving and cut-off operations have never been easier, where a live center is not needed. Installation requires no wiring or interfacing. Also it is very affordable and features an integrated Thru Coolant tool and chip cooling system.
 Dorian Victory Gang Tool                                                                                
       The Victory™ CNC Gang Tool, from Dorian Tool International is precision made with thru-hardened and Ion-Nitrided Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel and is precision ground for alignment and squareness for long life and accurate operation.

      With a Victory™ CNC Quick Change Gang Tool you can easily automate any programmable tool room lathe. The CNC Quick Change Gang Tool holds up to 10 tools in a linear setup and eliminates the need to stop the machine to change tools after each operation. With no wiring or interfacing conversion is quick and easy.

      The Victory™ CNC Quick Change Gang Tool slides over the tool post dovetail just like a regular quick change toolholder and is locked in place with a pull of the tool post locking handle. Anti-rotation pins prevent any radial movement even while heavy drilling, boring, turning and threading.

      A practical feature is that the center height for all the tools can be simultaneously adjusted using the height adjustment screw which minimizes setup/changeover time.

      After machining, the Victory CNC Quick Change Gang Tool is easily removed to return the lathe to single tool operation. Just slide it off the tool post dovetail. The tool post remains on the lathe, ready for more work.
 
Standard Equipment
       The Victory CNC Quick Change Gang Tool is supplied with a standard Thru Coolant system and all coolant fittings.  Gang tool sets include everything needed to upgrade in minutes.

        The Victory Automatic Thru Coolant tool post is also fitted with coolant fittings and is sold separately.
 
Fits Most Programmable Tool Room Lathes
       The Victory CNC Quick Change Gang Tool is available in six sizes for lathe swings over the bed ranging from less than 12" (300mm) to over 25" (635mm) and toolholders from ˝" (12mm) through 1-1/2" (40mm).
 
        Complete gang tool sets for 14-17" (350-430mm) and 16-20" (400-500mm) lathes will help you get off to an economical, fast start in high productivity turning. Sets include a gang tool, three Victory™ Gang tool holders, two reducer bushings and six cutting tools. Insert kits are pre-packaged for ferrous, aluminum and stainless steel cutting applications consisting of an assortment of 10 inserts for six different insert styles and grades.

      Dorian Jet-Stream™ Thru Coolant boring bars and tool holders are recommended to assure cool cutting tool tips while you are generating hot metal chips.


      The Victory™ Automatic Thru Coolant Tool Post is intended for both the CNC Gang Tool and as a conventional tool post and is complete with coolant fittings. This versatility means very little downtime during changeovers. And, you also have a wide selection of Victory™ Thru Coolant toolholders that you can expect from Dorian and manufactured to the same quality workmanship and international interchangeability standards.
