SunPump controllers are high quality, micro-processor contolled DC power converters designed as the interface between a DC powered pump and the power source. The main purpose of a PC series controller is to maximize the total daily water delivery while providing protection for the pump as well as the power source.

One of the features of a pump controller is to boost the current of solar modules in low sunlight conditions while holding the voltage of the solar modules around the maxmimum power point. This allows a pump to start earlier in the morning and stay running longer in the evening.

All PC series controllers include a pump speed control circuit, a remote switch circuit, a sensor-less low water cut-off circuit, an electronic circuit breaker and indicator lights.

Controller boxes are constructed of either UV stablized Super Tuff Delrin or aluminum and the current rating is reduced from 8 amps to 6 amps for the UV version.

The main purpose of a charge controller is to be able to fully charge a battery bank without causing damage to the batteries from over charging. Charge controllers also prevent the discharging of your batteries caused by reverse current flow at night.

The simple low cost controllers contain a relay that opens the charging circuit at a pre-set high voltage is reached and closes the relay when a pre-set low voltage is reached.

The more sophisticated controllers utilize pulse width modulation (PWM) to assure the batteries are being fully charged at maximum efficiencies. The first 70& to 80% of battery at its maximum state of change and minimizes sulfaction build-up by pulsating the battery voltage at a high frequency.
