MagVISE Electro-Permanent Magnetic Chucks come in 26 sizes from 9" x 17" through 19" x 39". Each chuck comes complete with a controller to easily integrate with manual or CNC machine controls, pallet changing and FMS Systems. Optional pole extensions can accommodate part height variations and serve as part locators or positioning stops.

ECB magnets can be linked together to turn ON and OFF and a setup ready to begin machining operations.
Two large banks of ECB magnets are used to hold plate stock for the screed. According to Jeff, chip evacution is easier than with vises because all you have to clean off is the tops of the magnets.

MagVISE ECB Permanent Magnetic Vises come in 4 sizes from 5" x 3" through 9.2" x 5.2". Vises require no electricity and are ideal for modular setups and come complete with induction blocks, wrench, extension and socket, switch-connect assembly, 2 stop plates and 4 toe clamps.

Extensive Application Possibilities
       MagVISE EEPM chucks are used for normal and heavy duty drilling, milling, and boring operations on medium or large sized work pieces. Rough and uneven stock is no problem to hold. Simply use the sliding pole extensions to support uneven work pieces. A minimum of 4 alternate poles contact is necessary for optimum magnetic holding power. Minimum thickness of job- 1/2".
       EEPM magnetic workholding chucks drastically reduce set up time for repeat and multiple part jobs. Magnetic chucks maintain uniform holding power over the entire work piece that eliminates vibration and distortion for a better finish and longer tool life. Since work piece distortion does not occur, tool chatter is minimized and surface finish and tool life are improved.
Five Sided Machining:  EEPM chucks fitted with pole extensions will support plates, castings and parts of all shapes while providing clear access for milling cutters on each side and the top surface as well as thru-hole drilling without risk of damaging machine table tops.
          Machining Round Stock: Round stock is readily held and may be quickly positioned with a simple mechanical stop.

          Flood Coolant Hole Making: The sealed permanent magnet chuck design resists down-time due to flood coolant and machine wash-downs.

Why should I consider magnetic workholding?

How long does magnetic workholding take to pay for itself?
Magnetic chucks pay for themselves very quickly because machine up-time and production output are increased. Every case is unique, but in most cases payoff occurs in just a few months.
How does magnetic workholding simplify setups?
Once you have your part(s) indicated on the magnet, change-over only requires turning the magnet on/off to remove and load the parts.
What is magnetic workholding best suited for?
Thick or thin, large or small - just about any ferrous material can be held and machined magnetically. Bigger parts are easier to hold because there is more metal for the magnetism to be attracted to. For smaller parts, using work stops and nesting the part are options that work well. Magnetic workholding is used for just about any type of drilling, milling, and boring operation you can think of, on horizontal or vertical CNC machines.
How do I know magnetic workholding will work for me?
No matter what size parts you cut, we can verify your application on our "test bed" CNC so we can offer you a turn-key workholding solution. We will duplicate your application using magnetic workholding and machine your part to verify the process and document the time savings. All at no risk to you.
Should I get magnetic chucks or magnetic vises?
Magnetic vises have a smaller foot print, and are turned ON/OFF using a manual switch. Magnetic chucks require a controller to turn ON/OFF, but DO NOT require electrical connection to maintain holding power. Magnetic chucks provide more surface contact with the workpiece and feature a greater number of magnetic poles, so they can produce more holding power than magnetic vises. During a power outage magnetic chucks will not lose holding power, so they are just as safe to use as magnetic vises.
